Saturday 15th November
With their league sides not in action, Alcester’s 3rds took full advantage of their centre stage with a comprehensive victory over AEI.
In a game that kicked off early, just before 1pm, to allow a finish before the internationals started and for players to be able to watch the England versus All Blacks game, Alcester lent players to their gallant opponents who had travelled short, but still made the journey to ensure there was action at Kings Coughton on Saturday.
A strong Alcester side led 36-0 at the break and scored a further five tries in the second half to further underline their domination.
Centre Steve Mason and former colt Josh Williams both scored hat tricks. Back rowers Rowan Magnall and Toby Birks scored a brace of tries each and wing Scott McGhee also added a well taken score, dancing through attempted tackles on his way to the line.
Man of the match Tom Burgess added three conversions.
Club head coach, Dave Miles, made his first appearance in red and black, as a second half substitute and provided a well-timed final pass, for one of Williams’ tries.
