Alcester fell to a second heavy defeat of the season against a high-flying Harbury side, who maintained their challenge for promotion, with a comprehensive victory.
With the slope at their back in the first half, the visitors dominated proceedings and the home side did well to contain them to the six tries and four conversions they scored to lead 38-0 at the break.
Alcester were more competitive in the second half. With their pack holding their own at the set phase, particularly at scrum time where they held the upper hand throughout the game, Alcester were able to launch several attacks, but they lacked the cohesion of their opponents, despite the efforts of George White at outside centre, who gets better every game he plays there.
The closest the home side came to scoring was through man of the match flanker Pav Sembakuttige who raced fully seventy meters from his own half, around some and through other attempted tackles, only to be hauled down just short of the line.
The visitors added three further tries, to complete the scoring, and one of the best organised displays of second XV rugby seen at Kings Coughton for many years.
Alcester hope to bounce back when they visit Old Saltleians for another league game on Saturday. Kick off in Water Orton is 3pm.
