Alcester 2nd XV 34 – 36 Berkswell & Balsall
Alcester’s 2nd XV narrowly lost out to Berkswell & Balsall, 34-36 as the game ended in unusual circumstances.
Alcester looked to have drawn the game level with a conversion in the closing stages of the game, and despite the referee awarding the kick, the opposition apposed and bizarrely were able to persuade the official to over turn his decision.
Throughout the close game Adrian ‘Dexie’ Derrick, Kyle Derry, Glynn Smith, Matt Stone, Ollie Hopkins and Scott McGee all crossed the whitewash, whilst Smith added two conversions.
Debutant Jake Field suffered a nasty break to his leg during the game and the whole club wish him well in his recovery.
